Kerberos

Kerberos is the name of the hard-core security protocol that's been used since Windows 2000. I'm in the process of learning exactly how it works.

So where does the Kerberos name come from?

Kerberos(aka Cerberus) is the name of the three headed dog that guards Hades (remember “Fluffy” that guarded the Socerer's Stone?).

Skype

Skype is an Internet telephony company. I like the way they describe themselves...

You could think of us as the big, free Internet telephony company. We prefer to think of ourselves as a big group hug, even a present. Yes… that’s it… we’re a present… but without the ribbon.

Scott's Mac

Here in South Africa  the MAC market is very small (except under the graphic designers). My girlfriend is a graphic designer. I am still stumped by the single mouse button thing. Why oh why?

So I had to smile when I read about Scott Hanselman updating an old Mac's firmware.

Constantine Review

I watched Constantine last night. It stars Keaunu Reeves, Rachel Weisz and Tilda Swinton.

My verdict? - 4/5 Stars
Warning - not for the faint hearted or those who are easily offended.

I get bored with non-stop action scenes. The Bourne Supremacy and Hero are prime examples. However, in Constantine I was gripped from start to finish (2 hours). The visuals are brilliant and it has an intelligent plot. This is definitely one to watch on the big screen.
