Here at Microgen we have weekly knowledge sharing sessions. Everyone gets a chance to do a presentation on a .Net topic. We've covered things like the JIT, Garbage Collection, Patterns and Practices. All of them very enlightening.
This week it’s my turn and I’m talking about Streams. I’m still looking for some good links. This article - Streams and .NET (on CodeGuru) was very good. Unfortunately it covered a lot of other things like Formatters and Encoders and not enough about streams. I’ll add more good links in a later post.
It's very easy to get caught up in a new hype. Indigo, Whidbey and Yukon seem to be the hot topics nowadays. However, taking time to research existing technologies (like Streams or even OOP) can be very rewarding.
