I have decided to submit the CompactXMLRPC library to OpenNetCF. I wrote this very light XML-RPC implementation to support MetaBlogAPI in Finch, but I had not yet published the code. If the submission is accepted, the library will be available under the OpenNetCF shared source license, while Finch will remain under the GPL.
Last friday, I was present at a developer event in The Netherlands (by
SDN), that targeted mobile development. I thought that the most interesting talks were the ones by Ginny Caughey, from the OpenNetCF advisory board. She talked about
OpenNetCF and about the new features in CF 2.0.
Besides some fixes for obvious omissions in v. 1.0, I am very glad to see good managed support for message queuing coming. Queuing data in a data entry application can be a great way to support 'sometimes connected' scenarios with flexibility in processing on the back-end.
