Whenever I tried ClearType in the past, I had a bad experience - purple,blurry text was the usual output I got. But after using the tuning wizard provided at http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/cleartypeactivate.htm, I'm amazed at the results. Readability is much,much better now. Do make sure you leave it on for an hour or so before you pass final judgement (this gives your eyes the time to adjust)
