This one came out of left field and smacked me in the head today. It turns out that I can edit and run DTSs interactively on SQL Server 2k 64-bit, but I cannot schedule the DTS as a recurring job on that box. I'm astounded - this is like Microsoft coming out with a 64-bit .NET framework and leaving out ASMX functionality. It makes no sense - sounds like a scheduling casualty to me. I'm currently looking for a workaround aside from running the scheduled DTS jobs on a seperate box. Wow!
I've been working with Intersoft's WebGrid.NET over the past couple weeks and blogging the experience. I've integrated the component with our business objects along with our UI customization component. We can now maintain column visibility, layout order and column size customizations by user across sessions. I'm very happy working with their support staff even though I'm currently a 'trial period' user. We will be purchasing the control shortly for our development staff. Their code samples and tutorials that ship with their product do a fine job of illustrating product usage and the online documention is excellent. My favorite page is their “WebGrid.NET Various Samples” page - neat, clean, concise.
