My how times change...
Reuters reports that Sun's COO Jonathon Schwartz is saying that hardware will be free in 4 to 5 years. I think it's humorous that their COO would make a “visionary-style statement” that drives their policy making.
And where is McNealy on this one? Oh yes, I forgot, he's been too busy babbling that all software would be free and we'd only pay for hardware. At the rate Sun stock is going, they might be right about their own hardware at least.
I think this has to fall under the category of “complete vision failure“.
