Brenton House blogged about Vivisimo and Clusty today. How timely, since Clusty released a toolbar for FireFox only yesterday (http://clusty.com/toolbar/firefox)!
The search support in FireFox is awesome. In addition to supporting all the major search engines from its searchbox (defaults to Google, just to the right of the address bar), did you know:
There are more than 44 search plugins for major news sites, 149 for shopping sites, 145 for computer sites and 63 for reference sites, among others. Three are also a half-dozen search plugins for kid-specific resources.
These plug-ins can be used to configure the search box to whatever you want to use the most. You can also make your own custom plug-ins.
Search Engine watch has a 3-part series describing FireFox's search capabilities:

From Monday's featured article on ASP.NET (from the MSDN library, no less):
Even if the form is created by a code generation tool (such as Eric J. Smith's excellent CodeSmith), it is easy to introduce errors if any custom logic is needed.

Rumors are swirling that MSN plans to release its new search technology this week. But why's that big news? After all, hasn't this technology already been released twice now to the public?
Yes, it has. But past releases have been via the MSN Sandbox site, a location really only visited by search marketers, webmasters, researchers and others wanting to play with the new technology.
In contrast, MSN may be planning to release the new search technology in places where the public is more likely to access it. Where might that be?
...
Nov. 11, 2004: If the rumors are true, MSN will move its new search technology to either MSN Search Beta or MSN Search on this day.
