Is It Too Late for Yahoo?
A week ago we woke up the the news that Yahoo was in play. On Sunday we watched the New York Giants down by four points to an undefeated team with only 2:39 left to play, teammates called out: BELIEVE and the Giant's offence went 83 yards to realize their destiny.
Aside from a few stockbrokers and lawyers most of us think this Microsoft-Yahoo deal is not a good idea, it certainly isn't innovative.
Seven years ago Yahoo or Microsoft could have easily acquired Google, but they were fixated on AOL. Microsoft invested billions in their AOL clone MSN, but all the white bread unimaginative people they hired couldn't create compelling content. Yahoo lost focus and tried to be the AOL of the web.
So will Jerry Yang accept the money and fade away like AOL or will he channel all this attention and realize Yahoo's destiny?
