Sun Microsystems the network is the computer company just purchased the open source My SQL for a billion dollars.

MySQL is the M in the LAMP stack; Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP.

I wonder is this the billion dollars they receaved from Microsoft last year to settle that Java issue?

I was at our SQL user group meeting last night and there was talk about Microsoft's commitment to the community, Sun today invested a billion dollars in a community effort, is Microsoft listening?

Hey Now Paul,
Nice Post 1B is a lot of clams. I hope MS is listening & will act. I do think MS does alot for the community, but the more the better.

How the heck are they going to make back $1B?? That's a lot'a support contracts.
