Digital Experience

I attended Digital Experience on Thursday evening in NYC as the thunderstorm rumbled and heavy rain fell outside.

Saw some incredibly sleek and powerful new laptops from the big three GM, Ford and Chrysler.... HP, Dell and Lenovo, but if you go to their websites you'll find they all have too many makes, models and accessories. Every laptop they sell should have the date it was released and the time line of upgrades listed as they were added.

I'm in the market for a laptop with a Cor 2 Duo, the Santa Rosa chipset now called Merome and a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT, or the GeForce 8600M GS. An 800mb front side bus with high speed DDR2 RAM, are not accessories they are necessity's for software developers and designers. Also IntelTurbo Memory an internal Flash cache technology to reduce boot-up time and increases system responsiveness and save power.

I had a nice talk with Suranga Chandratillake of Blinkx, their the second best video search after Yahoo, but their listening and improving every day.

I can't forget the memory people Seagate, Western Digital and SanDisk, they're all creating more storage in smaller and smaller form factors that are amazing to behold.
