Steve Ballmer Kicks Off Most Significant Product Launch in Microsoft’s History

Press people arrived at the NASDAQ exchange early on this spring like morning in New York to hear Steve Ballmer talk about a New Day for Business as Microsoft Launched Windows Vista, 2007 Office System and Exchange Server 2007 on what turns out to be MSFT’s twentieth year anniversary as a public company.

Increased productivity through collaboration and real time access to information sums up the message Steve delivered to a skeptical technological challenged audience of journalists and photographers from all over the globe.

I asked Steve if anyone had calculated the man-hours necessary to produce Windows Vista aside from the five million beta testers, he smiled and said that contributions to Vista come from many different product Teams at Microsoft so no man-hour, man-month, man-year figure is available.

Friends later told me that I was on the giant LCD screen atop the NASDAQ exchange in Times Square, larger then life as I asked that question. I should have had my URL embroidered on my shirt....

Microsoft CEO to Kick Off Launch of New Windows, Office, Exchange Products

News conference at NASDAQ in NTC also marks Microsoft’s 20th year as a publicly traded company.

What: Microsoft Corp. will host a news conference and live webcast to announce the availability of the Windows Vista™ operating system, the 2007 Microsoft Office system and Exchange Server 2007 for business customers with volume license agreements. Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Steve Ballmer will celebrate this historic product launch, which coincides with Microsoft’s 20th year as a publicly traded company, by ringing the bell to open the NASDAQ market.
