So Java is FREE now, how much did we spend on Java last year?
When Sun came to NYC last year I asked Scott McNealy if there was any thought of making Java Open Source - his answer was that Java is a Brand and Sun is going to protect it. See pages 72-74 on this Sun pdf.
This is the first time Sun has actually admitted to having bugs in their Java Brand and it looks like now they will have Open Source developers working to find and report bugs for FREE.
