Microsoft Revenue
Microsoft Reports First Quarter Earnings
Microsoft today announced first quarter revenue of $10.81 billion
The solid revenue results for the quarter were at the top end of our expectations and represent a very good start to the fiscal year - Chris Liddell CFO at Microsoft.
Microsoft Profit and Revenue Up 11% on Strength of Games and Servers
Server & Tools revenue increased 17% thanks to Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 and Biz Talk Server.
Entertainment and Devices Division revenue grew 70% thanks to the XBOX 360 -
The strong results are a reflection of our solid execution and ongoing focus on operational excellence. As we look to the upcoming releases of Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system and Exchange Server 2007, we are excited about these products and believe they will deliver unprecedented levels of business value to our customers. - Kevin Turner, COO at Microsoft
$10.81 billion is real money not some sort of dot com evaluation and all this without selling a single Zune or a copy of Windows Vista.
As I write this the NASDAQ is just opening for trading so keep an eye on MSFT
Edit: MSFT lost a penny on Friday Oct 27 '06, go figure.....
