Collaboration software

ScottW gave a good talk last night on his favorite subject; deploying Community Server. Looks like an upgrade should be available sometime today. Community Server is all about collaboration and next week in NYC there will be a lot of talk about collaboration at CTC 2005.

This is the inaugural Collaboration Technologies Conference and it’s about time we sat down together and discussed all the software applications that help people be more productive with other people regardless of geo-location. This is the new way of work and as bloggers and software developers we have been early adapters of these technologies. Now it's time to share what we have learned.

"We have lots of ways to connect with people using technology, but there are countless opportunities to make them smarter and more efficient, with these solutions, we can use the power of software to simplify the way we communicate -- offering a greater sense of presence, a more unified experience and a more secure, trusted environment."

- Bill Gates March 8, 2005

"The next few years are going to see a real revolution in how information and communications technologies fit into our lives. In fact, I believe we're going to see more change in technology over the course of the next five years than we have in the past decade."

- Steve Ballmer May 12, 2005

"The nature of work is fundamentally changing for today's information workers. We've moved from an era of personal productivity to one of joint productivity. From tightly coupled systems and organizations, to loosely-coupled interconnections between people, business processes and work groups."

-Ray Ozzie, CTO, Microsoft, March 10, 2005
