On page 2 of the NYT Sunday Business section there is a photo of Bill Gates gesturing towards the headline “Live by the Blog, Die by the Blog”. That story was about an XGoogle blogger, very old news around here.
The caption beneath Bill's photo tells us that he sold nearly 7 million shares of MSFT last week! That leaves him with just 1,057,499,336 shares of MSFT or 9.7% of The Company, down from the 10.7% he owned at the end of 2003.
What does this say about Chairman Bill’s confidence in SQL Server 2005? Live by the Blog, die by the Blog, was he aware that Robert Scoble was out of the country when he sold all those MSFT shares? My heart goes out to all the hard working, stock holding employees of MSFT who lost money this week.
