Google now offers their employees incentives worth millions of dollars for innovation. The first round of Founders' Awards were given in November to two teams, one technology team that helps to link people to advertisers and the other a business team that helped to close an important “deal”.
"We have people who just do phenomenal things here," Said Sergey Brin one of Google’s co-founders "I wanted a mechanism to reward that”.
Rewarding innovation is something AT&T should be doing to attract the best and the brightest talent. AT&T had the best talent in the world, but the business suites never appreciated their contribution and now they want to sell off their accomplishments.
Not one word in the newspapers or the blogs today about the “deal” that may or may not happen. The Stockholders will have the final say and they meet on May 18.
