BD-ROM

The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) today announced which advanced video codecs will be included in the BD-ROM specification. They had previously stated that they would include at least one advanced video codec, possibly more than one. The advanced video codecs that will be mandatory are MPEG-4 AVC High Profile and Microsoft's VC-1 video codec.

Microsoft x64 Customer Preview Program to Include Support for Intel EM64T in Addition to AMD Opteron

Microsoft announces the upcoming refresh of the Windows Server 2003 for 64-Bit Extended Systems Beta Customer Preview Program (CPP). The new beta CPP release will support both AMD Opteron and Intel Xeon with Intel Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T) in a single code base.

I built my AMD 64-FX  machine about a year ago, Windows XP 64 Edition is now scheduled for release sometime in the first “half” of 2005.
