The provider toolkit for ASP.NET 2.0 beta
2 is now available at
MSDN.
"The provider model is used throughout ASP.NET 2.0. It is a means of writing each of the technologies used so that new versions can easily be created and plugged in. For example, if you need to access a different database or authentication server, you can create a provider for it. ASP.NET 2.0 will then work with that provider just as it works with the existing features. This makes ASP.NET 2.0 much more flexible, expandable and customizable than before.

Yahoo!
has bought the Konfabulator, the widgets maker for windows. But the real
deal is that you can get it free now.
"To help popularize the widgets, Yahoo plans will
give away the Konfabulator software that empowers the applications. Konfabulator
had been charging $20 for the software. Anyone who bought version 2.0 of the
software since mid-May will be given refunds, said Konfabulator CEO Arlo Rose."

A coincidence, I statred with dotnetjunkes about a year ago and with TechEd 2004 India in progress. And here I am starting with DevAuthority when TechEd 2005 India (New Delhi) will start from tomorrow. It is nice to be here and it was a great experience with dotnetjunkies. I hope they upgrade it very soon. Thanks very much Dave.A coincidence, I statred with dotnetjunkes about a year ago and with TechEd 2004 India in progress. AMD has filed with federal district court for
the district of Delaware, an antitrust complaint against Intel, alleging Intel
of forcing major customers to accept exclusive deals, withholding rebates and
marketing subsidies as a means of punishing customers who buy more than
prescribed quantities of processors from AMD, threatening retaliation against
customers doing business with AMD and other charges.
Hector Ruiz, AMD Chairman, President and Chief
Executive Officer has put up an
open letter accusing Intel of monopolist.
Is this an desperate act from AMD ? I do not
think so. They had been doing good till date but Intel has been able to catch up
after their x64 failure. So, if you forgot about or missed the Microsoft Vs DOJ
antitrust trial, get ready for another show.
AMD is holding a press conference Tuesday
morning.
So obvious. I could no longer handle the amount
I have started receiving as comment spam. I hope to find a way out soon.

ShortCutter is a hotkey utility and can be used to perform user defined
action based on a key combination. I have been using
Hotkeycontrol XP till
now but thinking of switching to
ShortCutter. Their is another open source candidate I am considering
AutoHotkey. It is more powerful but
require a learning curve.
Took up the
PostgreSQL code base and added some propriety technology to make it more
reliable, secure, better
performer and compatible
(mainly with Oracle); and finally renamed it to
EnterpirseDB. Its status about Open
Source is unclear to me.
Sys-Con and TechSpot
call it open source where as
eWeek and
Database
Journel fails to mention so. Even
EnterpirseDB website is not clear about its status. It is free for
development, test, and low-volume production but enterprise production will cost
money.
The only good thing is that
it was a breeze to install it on Windows machine. Downloading incentive include

It is being reported that Netscape 8 is causing
problem to Internet Explorer's XML rendering ability (IEBlog,
ZDNet).
So, I tried to browse the RSS feed of
this blog on
a Windows XP SP2 machine with IE6, Netscape 8 & Firefox 1.0.4. Firefox was
working fine so was Netscape 8 with Firefox rendering. IE was displaying a blank
page. Even Netscape 8 showed a blank page when I switched to IE engine.
Microsoft is advising users to unistall NS 8 till it work out a solution with
Netscape. Bad going for netscape.
There is
blog
entry which says that IE rendering engine of
Netscape 8 require Internet Explorer. It was tried on
98lite which did not have IE installed.
Great to prove a point, but then, will MS let you install OS without IE.
