Where is Find in File's info cached???

I'm having my "Find in Files stopped working" again.  I'm getting annonyed.  It looks like the VS .NET has cached something about the number of files in my solution.  No the problem is where???

1) Temp files like .projdata?? or others in the obj et al directories?  Unlikely - I checked in last night and blew away my entire source tree and I'm still having the problem.

2) registry? This key seems promising: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\Find - but nothing inside it jumps out as the problem.

3) Something in my Documents and Settings folder?? I've tried blowing away the files I can find.

So what have I missed???
Any hints would save my sanity.
