Recent music discoveries

My asking for music suggestions last week got quite a few suggestions, here they are - in addition to the discoveries I've made since.

  1. Darrell pointed to http://launch.yahoo.com/ - it a had a few interesting stations, but nothing I wasn't already getting through MusicMatch.
  2. Several people pointed me to ITunes and Windows Media player - I often find good things with both, but I was looking for more
  3. On the same day I asked for suggstions Jon wrote "Blogs + playlists = collaborative listening", which introduced me to Webjay. Very cool, uneven material, but fun.
  4. Henry Erich III creates playlists from the html of a newsgroup web listing. I have yet to try it
  5. Kirk Marple suggested KEXP a commercial free Seattle radio station. Cool
  6. Scott Galloway pointed to http://www.shoutcast.com -- looks good, haven't time yet
  7. Vazz mentioned www.actsofvolition.com/ which lead me to justconcerts.com - from the CBC, where I listened to a great concert by Sarah Harmer and know Hawksley Workman
  8. Tim Bray just posted a link to Dainbramage.com another internet Radio Station
  9. Finally there's CBC radio 3 an interesting CBC experiment

Thanks for all the great ideas, I've got another couple of months of digging to get through all this
