Konfabulator is now free !

Konfabulator has been acquired by Yahoo !!!

What Is Konfabulator?

Konfabulator is a JavaScript runtime engine for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your WiFi signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather.

What sets Konfabulator apart from other scripting applications is that it takes full advantage of today's advanced graphics. This allows Widgets to blend fluidly into your desktop without the constraints of traditional window borders. Toss in some sliding and fading, and these little guys are right at home in Windows XP and Mac OS X.

The format for these Widgets is completely open and easy to learn so creating your own Widgets is an extremely easy task.

For the "skinning" crowd, Konfabulator is a dream come true. You can easily change the look, feel, layout, even functionality of a Widget so that it matches your lifestyle, your desktop, or the pants or skirt you have on that day.

Problem with Compiled Html Help (.chm) files content

You open a .CHM file. The contents pane displays correctly, but whenever you click on a link, the right-hand pane displays a "The page cannot be displayed" error.

Check that the path to the .CHM file doesn't have any # characters in it anywhere. Otherwise, the help viewer gets confused (# means something specific in HTML). If it does, you'll have to move the file somewhere else.

Phishers are after me !!!

Seems they are after me. This is my yahoo bulk mail folder ...

Bulk Mail

I am not getting regular emails from my friends, but these guys are very regular.I am not a big fan of ebay or paypal but these phishing emails never allow me to forget them. I don't have a VISA card but they ask me to update my information.

In starting, I was forwarding such emails to ebay, paypal and relevant authorities but now its become terrible.  Seems I need to write a program to automatically forward such emails to relevant authorities so atleast they will fade up and take some actions (hope not against my emails but those phishers).

I can recognize such a emails and take precaution of it, but there must be 10000000000s of innocent people around who cannot and become a victim of it.

Can we dare to dream a world without phishers and hackers? Can microsoft, yahoo, google and other big companies do something to secure all the communications on the internet. Can Internet authorities make internet more safer and secure environment?

Spammers Sue Spamee

sebFlyte writes "In an interesting take on the law, some (alleged) spammers are suing some poor chap who got them blocked by ISPs due to the fact they kept sending him spam. According to Spamhaus the company doing the suing is on their books as spammer, and also as a spyware company... If this case goes the wrong way, things could get very sticky for anyone wanting to report spam." ... Read More

Your Dominant Intelligence is Logical-Mathematical Intelligence
You are great at finding patterns and relationships between things. Always curious about how things work, you love to set up experiments. You need for the world to make sense - and are good at making sense of it. You have a head for numbers and math ... and you can solve almost any logic puzzle. You would make a great scientist, engineer, computer programmer, researcher, accountant, or mathematician.

I started blogging to create a little library of ideas, links and content. Another reason is to improve my writing. I have hopes of someday being a good writer who gets things published in books and journals, and not just on my blog or website.
