Is DSI the basis for Whitehorse deployment?
Microsoft announced today Windows Update Services and the Dynamic Systems Initiative. A core piece of DSI is the System Definition Model, an XML model of distributed systems. This looks to me like a whole lot of infrastructure to build Whitehorse on. I wonder what it all means for the future of deploying shrink wrapped apps? I can see slashdot complaints that Microsoft is gutting yet another XML standard, RDF. I guess we'll stay tuned.
