Last day

Today is my last day at SURFLANT. For the next two weeks I'm on vacation then it's off to join the fleet again. So I won't be OFFICIALLY a .NET developer anymore.  I'll be doing real sailor stuff again. However, I WILL still be playing around with .NET in my spare time.  Going to user group meetings when I'm in port. Learning as much as I can so that when I retire in a couple of years I'll be able to jump back in.  So I'm wondering what to call myself now.  .NET Enthusiast? .NET Hobbyist?

Wednesday afternoon we had my goodbye luncheon at Fellini's in Norfolk.  A great place to eat by the way. They have Guinness on tap. ;)

Anyway farewell SURFLANT the last three years developing WISE has been a blast.

It was a short dry spell

Last night I went to the monthly meeting of the Hampton Roads SQL Server Users Group (Which, despite the name, has evolved into a nice little .NET Developers group) and one of the prizes for the evening was a full copy of Windows Server 2003 with 25 CALs courtesy of PASS.  And I WON! Woo Hoo!

Thanks HRSSUG and PASS!
