A followup entry - Left Bellevue

This is a followup to my Made it to Bellevue entry earlier this week.

Some things I learned while in Bellevue/Redmond:

  1. Silver Cloud in is a great place to stay if you are in town to go to Microsoft's campus - it is practically on the same road, beds are nice, people are nice, plenty of cable channels and most of all FREE HIGH SPEED (10Mb) INTERNET in the rooms (I heard the Hyatt charges $10 or something like that)
  2. Traffic on 405 sucks at rush hour
  3. Leaving downtown Bellevue at 5:10pm on a Friday, gets you to the airport around 6:00pm (50 minutes)
  4. Security line at the airport is long around 6pm (as with most airports)
  5. People who try to cut in line because they are running late - tick everyone off
  6. N Gates are first stop on the train (reminds me of Matrix Revolutions - have to take the train)
  7. San Francisco is about 1:45 trip
  8. Red-eye from San Fran to Boston Sucks - especially when it is full!
  9. Get an aisle seat if possible so you can strech your legs every now and then
The Microsoft campus is beautiful. The conference center was great, as were all the people I met.

BTW: They didn't ask me to stay ;)
