Im worried. Of all people, I thought I would be the last one to use Linux (just typing the word made me feel ill =]) Last night I downloaded Suse 9.1. Tonight I will be installing it.
What am I doing you ask?!?!
- Suse installs next to Windows on its own partition so I can dual boot.
- Suse installs as easy as Windows (so they say) off the CD.
- I honestly think I like the ?KDE? interface, I will find out tonight though.
What am I imagining a few of you ask?!?!?
- Installing this and a Media Center app on one of my Xboxes.
- Dusting the cobwebs off of the 450mhz boxes.
I think the MS vs Linux wars are annoying and I dont get involved, but honestly I have been the opposite of interested in actually installing Linux on one of my own machines. Why am I scared? Well if I, of all people, am doing this - How many have done it before me.
Im sure I will post my thoughts on Suse 9.1 - whether it sucks ass or converts me (HAHAHA). But the battle has already been won by Linux. That being getting me to actually install Linux. Something I would consider a huge waste of my time in the past. (I used to spit at the idea of a Linux box on my personal network)
