Stored Procedures

Interesting post on stored procedures vs. dynamic SQL here.  Looks like I have some research of my own to do now.  I was always under the impression that stored procedures were almost always more efficient and the way to go.  I've never really given it much thought otherwise.

SharpReader 0.9.3.1

Most of you may have seen this already, but new SharpReader out with two bugs fixed... one pretty big...  Nice to see software updated this quickly...nice work to the developers!

Creating project quotes

I think quoting a new project is my least favorite part of a new project.  The issues of not padding the quote too much that you scare of the client, but also not soo little that you end up screwing yourself.  It is something you just get a feel for the longer and more you do it, but it never ceases to make me nervous.

Any resources out there for IT consultants that assist in giving templates for quotes or other such items for consultants?

Welcome - First Post

First time here, glad to be here and thanks to Donny Mack for the space.

Some quick info about myself.  I currently am an independent consultant in the Northeast Ohio area.  Check my business site out, Malachi Computer Consultants.  I've been working with .NET for about 2 years now, when I went solo.  Still doing some legacy stuff in VB6, but all new projects are with .NET in C#.

My current focus has mainly been working with ASP.NET and creating some interesting web apps, but I am doing some winform apps now and look to get some more of those.

I'm hoping with this Blog to share with the community some of what I've gotten out of it the last couple months that I've been lurking.  Hopefully there will be some items of interest here.
