Back in Bangalore
I'm back in India again after a 10-day trip to Europe for XP2004. It feels weird coming back -- everything feels familiar and strange at the same time. Being back in the West, I recognised some of the things that I miss being out here (like peace, quiet, and easy access to nature). Oh well, I guess you can't have it both ways.
The conference itself was great. It was wonderful to reconnect with many of the people that I met at last year's conference. The location was scenic and unlike last year, there was a central venue for everyone to meet and socialise. I presented my "Scaling Continuous Integration" paper which seemed to go over quite well. It did provoke a fair bit of debate and excitment after the session. I tried a bit of a different presentation approach by using a sequence of System Thinking Effects Diagrams to illustrate my ideas. I think everyone was sick of text-filled slides by this point, so this approach was a welcome alternative.
