The future of Media Center PC

Really curious... this is one of two sample designs for a new style of Media Center PC, commissioned by Microsoft's eHome division from One & Co., a San Francisco engineering and design company.

What do you think??? Do you like it??? I think that, if a day I'll have something like this on my home, I'll use it as a table or chair...

Import of Outlook Mailboxes to Gmail

After my post of yesterday about how to import Thunderbird Mailboxes to a Gmail account, today I've found the trick on how to import also the Outlook Mailboxes (PST format) to Gmail...

You can use this tool called Mail Navigator. This is a PST Reader and what you've to do is simply extract messages from the PST archives of MS Outlook, load the mail folders with MailNavigator, and then export the messages in MBX format (via the menu Message, Save As). After that, you can use the Gmail Loader tool.

The import is performed!

Acrobat Reader flaw...

I was missing this alert but I think it must be take in consideration, expecially for the target: the last releases of Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader (I think every of us have Acrobat Reader installed on our pc) haw a serious flaw regariding the management of Flash (swf) embedded files.

The problem is that embedded Macromedia flash files are executed in a local context. This can be exploited to read local files by embedding a specially crafted flash file in a PDF file located on a malicious web site. The vulnerability has been confirmed on Adobe Reader 6.01 and 6.02 for Windows. You can read the details on Secunia website and also have a demostration HERE.

Solutions to this? At the moment not too much... only disable Javascript in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader. A patch is required soon.
