This week I'm attending the Microsoft EMEA Community Connect Event in Barcelona. As the name of the event indicates it's about connecting User Group Leads, Regional Directors, MVP's, community members and getting them more involved in the existing communities.
So far the following topics have been covered:
Channel 9: Lenn Pryor - Microsoft's director of platform evangelism - did a tour on Channel 9. Channel 9 combines video blogging, wikis, RSS, and a forums-based comments engine to bring Microsoft and its developers closer together through transparency and dialogue. Interesting to get some insights on Channel 9 and how the Channel 9 team shoots those amazing videos !
Mobile Devices: Some people of the Windows Mobile Devices Team covered a lot of the exiting stuff coming up in the world of developing apps for the next generation Pocket PC's, Smartphone's and the Compact Framework. Have a look at these new Windows Mobile-based devices here.
Learn 247: Lester Madden highlighted the Learn247 projects and its importance for the community. Currently 2 projects - Football 247 .NET and WeRock 247 .NET - are available. More information on these complete solutions can be found on the Learn247 site.
Currently Microsoft is developing a new 247 project: WeFly247 .NET. This 247Pproject will be focused around development with Visual Studio 2005. Some screenshots of WeFly247 .NET - posted by Jelle Druyts - can be found here.
Overall this is a great opportunity to gather some information on all the community efforts taking place in the EMEA region.
