I thought I had been busy over the past 7 weeks with an anniversary week in London, the holidays and business trips to Prague and Silicon Valley, but looking at my upcoming schedule... that was nothing.
Those of us in the Boston area really are lucky to have such an active developer community. It seems we're never more than a week from the next event. That will certainly be true over the next five weeks:

February 10th now March 10th - Robert Hurlbut will be speaking at the Rhode Island .NET User group on "Secure Coding for the .NET Developer". The talk will be at the New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, RI from 6-8 PM.
[No, Rhode Island isn't exactly "greater Boston", but I have to justify including my Connecticut .NET User Group talk in the list below. :) ] |

February 15th - MSDN Events will be coming to the Regal Cinemas in Westborough, MA from 1-5 PM. Registration required. There will be three sessions:
- WinForms - Produce, Extend, Enhance
- ASP .NET – Fixing that last bug in your Web App
- Visual Studio Team System – A Technical Tour

February 16th - After the success of the first Cabana Night, get ready for round two! Cabana Night II will be from 6-8 PM at WebServices Edge 2005 East at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. You don't need to be a conference attendee to join Cabana Night. (However, if you'd like, you can get a free expo pass.) This is a great chance to chat with experts like Pat Hynds, Richard Hale Shaw, Chris Pels, Jesse Liberty, Carl Franklin, Duane Laflotte, Don Sorcinelli and, because I offered a bribe, me. |

February 20th - Join Carl Franklin for the (rescheduled) Mini Code Camp, Special Edition - VB.NET from 8:30 - 5:00 at the Microsoft offices in Waltham, MA (registration required.) This will be a fantastic chance to learn fundamentals and best practices for VB.NET development. |

February 22nd now March 22nd - SB Chatterjee has kindly invited me to speak to the Connecticut .NET User Group from 6-8 PM at the Microsoft offices in Farmington, CT. The session will be “Unit Testing: Today and Tomorrow“. I'll briefly introduce unit testing and discuss how unit testing can be done today with tools such as NUnit. The bulk of the session be about how things will change (and remain the same) when migrating to Visual Studio Team System's native unit testing features. [See “greater Boston” disclaimer in the February 10th entry above.]

February 22nd - Join Jason Haley and others for the February Boston Geek Dinner at Boston Beer Works on Canal Street at 5:30 PM. Good beer and great company. |

February 23rd - The second Boston Code Brew will be held at Airpath Wireless in Waltham, MA at 6:00 PM. Bring your laptops and join Robert Hurlbut and others for great discussion about this month's focus of “all things database” with special focus on SQL Server. |

(new) March 3rd - The Downtown Boston .NET User Group (aka Beantown.NET) will be hosting Michael Stiefel for his presentation on "Securing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) with Microsoft's WSE 2.0". The meeting will be at 5:30 at Adesso Systems in Boston. |

March 9th - Boston .NET User Group meeting at the Microsoft offices in Waltham, MA (registration required):
- 5:00-6:15: Presentations and open discussion on the popular .NET Nuke platform

March 12th & 13th - Back for its third incarnation is the extremely popular Code Camp held at Microsoft in Waltham, MA. A full weekend of no-marketing, no-fluff content delivered by developers to developers. Here is the current list of sessions. Registration required.
