Could anyone suggest me some Grid Computing Projects which can be done using .NET technologies. The level of the project should be an average one. I need it as part of my Enginnering Project.
These days Iam trying to get close with Alchemi framework. Its a .NET based Grid Computing Framework developed at University of Melbourne, Australia. Its Amazing work done by a group of Indian Students there.
Iam goin to use this framework for my University-final year project. I'll post much about the project soon. For now its goin' to be something based on Grid Computing and the software layer being .NET.
Anyone who has done such kinda projects or are currently doing please mail me.
The new MSN search is cool.
Check out at: http://search.msn.com
I never used to search MSN. One of the reasons may be because of its speed. In India most of us use a Dial Up Internet Connection. So speed is still a big problem. Google was the only solution. google.co.in is simple fast... Whenever you say search engine the very first engine people think of is the Google search engine. Some also use Yahoo. MSN was a rare choice.
But these days the new improved MSN is great. Its as fast as Google. The results are also optimal.
Some of the key features mentionable are:
- Faster Access (Directly go to http://search.msn.com )
- More Personalized
- Results are better organized
- Relevant Results
- Fair Ranking
I generally have the habit of cleaning up my mailbox daily. But these days gmail has made me lazy. 1GB + great google intra mailbox search gives you every freedom to be lazy. +gmail sorts mail according to conversations. Each thread can be viewed seperately. Yahoo is also giving 100MB space does not matter. In fact giving lot of space without intra mailbox search is actually harmful. We tend to mess up our mailbox and lose (not able to find) some important mail.
Microsoft has said Hotmail is coming up with 250 MB + some great anti-spam. A popular Indian site rediff.com has also come up with 100MB. Rediff.com is one of the fastest sites in India. But the problem here are those irritating opoup ads. As far has i saw the best among free email providers is gmail.
Some of key features of gmail:
- Speed (3* 10^8)
- Intra Mailbox Search
- Filtering is great
- Conversations(Thread)
- 100% relevant ads
I got a gmail beta invite from Anupam Jain , Category Editor, Google. He is also a Microsoft Student Ambassador.
The concept is great.
The performance:
Sign in process:
The sign in process can be compared to yahoo. i.e. an average speed. Tune in accept cookies. Don’t underestimate GMAIL performance by looking at the sign in process.
Post Sign in :
From now on everything is in a flash of second. Speed= 3* 10^8 ---/mili sec.
The interface is awesome.
Editor : Not satisfactory. Image support is not there.
Filter : Yeah, quite good.
Saving a mail option is not enabled. Its not saving properly. That may be bocs of the beta tag. That’s what they are saying at Google.
U CAN SEND A MAIL IN 1/100TH OF A SECOND.
Blogging after quite a few days.
I din. blog after the Microsoft Advocates Meet. Hey, It was awesome....
3 Days- Goldens Palms Resort- Great talks- Fantastic Events- In the middle of Indian Geeks- Was greatest.
We had a three day Microsoft Students Advocates Meet at Golden Palms Hotel and Spa, Bangalore. All the Student Champs across the country had come. We had a great time, infact the greatest time of our life.
Geeks from Microsoft talked on the greatest stuff.
The best was a show called 'Microsoft- The Past, Present and Future' featuring all the previous versions of Windows and Longhorn intro also. Deepak Gulati was the architect of this show. They say no show from Microsoft in Bangalore is complete without a talk by this guy.
The tablet PC stuff was cool.
Got a chance to meet all the 100+ Microsoft Student Champs from all parts of India.
