Visual Studio Team System Event in Oslo
With an official
release date for Visual Studio 2005 and a beta 3 release of Team Foundation
Server announced,
the seemingly endless wait for Visual Studio Team Systems
release is almost over. During the last month I’ve worked with three
different clients who have begun the process of adopting the entire
suite. Team System is
much more than just a tool, with integrated project management support,
project templates and so on these organizations must also learn how to
customize
and extend the MSF Agile framework to fit their software life-cycle.
Customizing
Team System is easy, but being conscious about your software life-cycle
might
require some heavy lifting, and good advice and best-practices are
always welcome.
If you’re an architect or developer in the Oslo area you should attend
Microsoft’s
Team System 2005 one-day event in Oslo on September 21st. Michael
Leworthy and Sonal Pardeshi, who both are program managers for Team System, are giving
sessions on many of the life-cycle support features in Team System as well as
sessions on how to adopt and extend the suite. I’ve had a CDR recording of the
Dot Net Rocks “Team System – Live at TechEd” show in my car, and listening to it has been a
great inspiration when preparing to do VSTS coaching for our VSTS-ready
clients. The people coming to Oslo
are among those who took part in this excellent show and caching them live will be great.
The complete agenda for the event can be found at http://msevents-eu.microsoft.com/CUI/EventDetail.aspx?EventID=118762481&Culture=nb-NO.
Follow the registration link on the page to sign-up, but be quick – this is a
free event and I reckon it’ll get fully booked in a jiffy.
