Atlas Project Server

The Atlas project is fantastic, but I am finding the Atlas Control Toolkit really buggy, and there is no knowing when the next release is.

I discovered today that there is a public server where builds and issues can be found:

I might be brave enough to try the source code directly later ;)

Exam 70-229 - Sql Server 2000

Finally bit the bullet and took this today, and passed with a good margin!

Unlike the .Net exams, I found this was more a case of looking at the answers carefully and filtering out the obvious wrong ones.

The more I work with Sql Server, the more respect I have for the guys who really know how to run this in an Enterprise

Code editing on the device

Found this today.. it is a mini coding environment (Including C# with VS 2005 project support) for your Windows Mobile device:

As far I can tell, you cannot use it for visual debugging on the device, which would be a great selling point for me. I know you can remotely debug with Visual Studio, but being able to that in isolation on the device would help in tracking down those connectivity bugs.

Windows CE 6.0

Microsoft have just announced the beta of Windows CE 6.0.

People do get confused between this and Windows Mobile, and the short clarification is that Windows Mobile is based on Windows CE.

This means that when this gets released by the end on this year, it will probably take another year for the Windows Mobile Team to start basing their platform on it, and maybe another year after that before you start seeing common consumer devices such as Smart Phones & PDAs using it.

Still, it is exciting to see this platform today, because it shows us what will potentially be available in a few years from now :)
