As many blogs and stories have pointed out, that Bill Gates will be awarded a honorary knighthood.
But, only British (and Commonwealth) citizens can have the title of "Sir" (in fact, the Yahoo report makes not of the fact) ... so, unless Mr. Gates changes his citizenship, he will remain exactly that (Mr. Gates).
